COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE ITALIAN CAMPAIGN, created in 1859, Second Empire. 21534

Round silver medal, engraved by Barre, depicting on the obverse the effigy of the emperor crowned with laurel framed by the legend "NAPOLEON III EMPEROR" and bordered by a laurel wreath. On the reverse, the inscription "ITALIAN CAMPAIGN - 1859" surrounding the names of the battles "MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, TURBIGO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO." Diameter 31 mm.

Ribbon made of silk alternating 6 vertical red stripes of 4 mm and 5 vertical white stripes of 2 mm, bordered by a 1 mm white stripe. Width 3.6 cm.
