Leather-covered in black cloth, H 20 cm in the front and 21.5 cm in the back, with a green braid (width 4 cm) at the top and a leather chinstrap (width 2.5 cm) at the bottom. Crown, diameter 24 cm with a black waxed leather visor, width 6.5 cm. Cockade (diameter 6.9 cm) in embossed white lacquered iron depicting a sun with rays, model 1818. Brass plate, model 1823, representing a shield with three fleurs-de-lis topped with a royal crown, surrounded by laurel branches; at the bottom, a shield-shaped base cut out with the number "31" in the center, H of the plate 14 cm, width 11 cm. It is attached to the shako with a wide brass tab that fits into a leather sheath sewn onto the shako. Brass chinstraps consisting of a rosette stamped with a fleur-de-lis and leather straps covered with 15 scales cut alternately in one or three scallops. Interior lining composed of a leather band cut into numerous teeth linked together by a lace.

Good condition, some wear on the braid and leather, one scale missing on one chinstrap, missing the two lace cords for the chinstraps.
