Coffret de forme rectangulaire (25,5 cm x 10,5 cm x 7 cm) en acajou verni, couvercle avec bordure décorée de traits en laiton et écu central en laiton gravé « FM » (pouvant indiquer les initiales du général François Marulaz). Fermeture en laiton signée « BIENNAIS ORFÈVRE DU PREMIER CONSUL r St Honoré n° 119 ». Intérieur gainé de velours rouge postérieurement. Dessous du coffret gainé de velours marron postérieurement.
