Black "flamand" felt hat. Height from the front peak to the curved part 17.8 cm, height from the front peak to the bottom of the horns 24.5 cm. Height from the back peak to the curved part 25 cm, height from the back peak to the bottom of the horns 32 cm. Width 42 cm. Depth of the cap 15.5 cm. A curly white ostrich feather is sewn along each of the inner edges.
Black velvet cockade, 6.5 cm wide, embroidered with gold sequins and gold branches representing scabious leaves. It is attached to the lower part of the hat by a large gilded metal uniform button, model 1814, depicting a chamberlain's key surrounded on each side by a fleur-de-lis topped with a royal crown, all surrounded by laurel branches.
White silk rosette, 10 cm in diameter.
Interior cap composed of a beige waxed calf turban (height 6.5 cm) and trimmed with ivory silk with a label printed in black "TAIÉE Sucer. de ROGET Rue Vivienne n°16".
Good condition, with some damage to the felt, the white feathers showing signs of age, and oxidation of the embroidery on the cockade.
