DRAGOON SABER, model 1768-1781, Ancient Monarchy.
Hilt with a half-basket guard with three branches of flat iron, the guard branch is screwed to the pommel (they are made in two pieces: one piece forms the two guard branches and the second forms the oblique branch). Two unidentified hallmarks are affixed to the quillon. Wood handle covered in leather. Iron cup cover. Straight blade, with hollow facets and a flat back, measuring 82 cm, engraved on the front side with the motto "VIVE LE ROY" in cursive letters; on the back side, the arms of France with the motto "VIVE LE ROY" framed by geometric emblems. Without scabbard.
Good condition, iron parts oxidized, missing the wire decoration, blade slightly oxidized with its engravings perfectly legible.
