INFANTRY OFFICER'S SABER, model 1855, Second Empire.
Brass hilt similar to the model 1845 with a narrower decoration, featuring three branches forming a shell decorated with an oak branch and a laurel branch on a background of a bundle of flags. Cap with a long tail decorated with an oak branch, laurel, and a palmette. Horn handle with missing filigree. Natural leather knot. Slightly curved blade with hollow facets, illegible signature on the back, length 77 cm.
Missing scabbard.
Poor condition, heavily rusted blade.
