WALLOON FORTRESS-SWORD OF THE GUARDS OF THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSEHOLD, Company of Villeroy, Former Monarchy, circa 1730 - 1750.
Iron hilt. Multi-branch guard (four main branches and three secondary branches), thumb guard. Double-shell pierced hilt. Rounded pommel. Filigree copper-wire handle. Brass ferrules. Slightly curved engraved blade with hollow facets, on one side "GARDE DU DU CORPS DU ROY" followed by a fleur-de-lis, and on the other "MANUFACTURE D'ALSACE" followed by a fleur-de-lis, flat back engraved "Compagnie de Villeroy". Shortened blade, 73.5 cm in length. No scabbard.
Good condition, with usual oxidation.
