Guard with three branches forming an openwork shell and decorated with a flaming bomb, entirely in brass. Brass cap, wooden handle covered in filigreed calfskin with braided brass wire, brass ferrule. Top ending with a quillon in the shape of a shield decorated with three palm leaves. Hallmarks: “VERSAILLES”, on the quillon “JC” in an oval corresponding to J CAZAMAJOU reviser from January 1809 to September 1811, “J” in an oval.
Blade with hollow sides, signed on the flat back engraved “Mfture Imple de Klingenthal Coulaux Frères), width at the heel 3 cm, length 96.3 cm. Buffalo tie. Hallmarks: “M” surmounted by a star corresponding to C. MARION inspector from December 1808 to June 1811, “B” from first class controller J.G Bick from February 1809 to July 1819.
Wooden scabbard, all brass fittings. Entrance to the sheath lined with a bowl. Bail bracelets lined with protruding moldings, brass bail pins; steel rings. Lower part finished with a steel stinger. Between the two bracelets, the sheath is perforated with two holes with rounded ends.
