BIOGRAPHY:
François Bourlon de Chevigné Moncey (1780-1863). He served in the 4th Cuirassiers under the Empire, quickly rising through the ranks to become adjutant-major captain in the 1st Cuirassier Regiment in 1813. He was wounded at the Battle of Essling on May 22-23, 1809. As aide-de-camp to his father-in-law, Marshal Moncey, he joined the Queen's Cuirassiers and then the Royal Guard Lanciers during the Restoration. He married the daughter of Marshal Moncey, Duke of Conegliano, in Paris on March 30, 1814. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1807, and Knight of Saint Louis in 1821.
