DRESS COAT OF A MARÉCHAL DE CAMP (BRIGADE GENERAL) IN UNDRESS, July Monarchy.
Coat made of dark blue satin wool, almost black, closed on the chest by a row of nine large 1830 uniform buttons (half-domed, gilded with a matte finish, embossed relief of a bundle of French flags with a rooster), 2.5 cm in diameter.
Collar made of dark blue satin wool, 7.5 cm high, embroidered in threads, gold bullions, and sequins with a row of oak leaves about 6 cm wide, bordered at the top with a scalloped rod; it is rounded at the front.
Sleeves ending with a straight cuff 10.5 cm high, made of the same wool as the coat and similarly embroidered to the collar (the row is approximately 5.8 cm wide), bordered at the top with a scalloped rod.
Shoulder loops made of gold thread, bullions, and sequins passementerie (length 9.5 cm, width 1.5 cm).
At the bottom of the back, a series of oak and laurel branches are embroidered with four uniform buttons.
Mock pockets at the top with three uniform buttons each.
At the bottom of each welt of the tails, an embroidered gold insignia on blue wool, representing a winged staff lightning bolt, embroidery height 6.6 cm, width 4.3 cm.
Partially missing inner lining.
Shoulder boards of a divisional general with body embroidered in threads, gold bullions, and sequins forming V-shaped braids with scalloped edges. At the end, three silver stars for the rank of lieutenant general (divisional general) are affixed to a shield entirely embroidered in gold passementerie, bordered by three rolls and ending in fringes with thick twists called "spinach seeds".
Medium condition, oxidized embroideries, damage to the wool.
