Médaille en argent représentant sur l'avers une branche de houx avec un ruban portant la devise «QUE NUL NE ME TOUCHE» signée "G. GUERCHET"; revers portant l'inscription sur le pourtour « SOCIÉTÉ DES VOLONTAIRES DE 1870-1871 » avec au centre « COLMART Alexis 72ème Bataillon de Guerre 1ère Compagnie». Ruban écarlate à bande bleu et vertes.
