Miniature sur ivoire, de forme rectangulaire, H 6,5 cm x 5,8 cm.
Aquarelle et gouache.
Elle représente Monsieur Bessat, officier des places à Rochefort en grande tenue, uniforme bleu à broderies, boutonnières, à épaulettes, boutons dorés, arborant une étoile d'officier de la Légion d'Honneur et l'ordre bavarois Max-Joseph fondé en 1806, bien que la couronne n'apparaisse pas bien dessinée sur la miniature.
Cadre en laiton doré, H 7,5 cm, largeur 6,8 cm, sous-verre chevet.

Monsieur BESSAT, natif de Rochefort est devenu officier des places dans sa ville en 1812 après une carrière déjà mouvementée.
