OFFICER'S SABER OF HUSSARS, CONSULATE - FIRST EMPIRE.
Brass hilt. Single-branch guard. Pommel in the shape of a pillow decorated with a line. Long-tailed cap decorated with lines. Wooden handle entirely filigreed in silver. Curved blade with hollow facets engraved with a military trophy, a charging hussar topped with a ribbon marked "VIVA HUSSAR", leafy scrolls, these decorations are gilded on a blued background. Blade length 90.2 cm. Scarlet wool knot. Wooden scabbard with two large brass fittings with scalloped edges decorated with lines. Steel blade. The two fittings are connected by two braces with a black varnished leather center. Brass belt studs and rings connected by the forage cord, made of a brown leather braid.
