GARGOUSSIER DE LA MARINE ANGLAISE, 19ème siècle.

Enveloppe contenant la gargousse qui est la charge de poudre d'une bouche à feu.

En bois gainé de toile laquée bordeaux polychrome. Fermé par deux courroies rivetées en cuir. Initiales "R" et "N" peintes sur le couvercle.

Sont peints les emblèmes de la couronne royale britannique avec la devise de l'Ordre de la Jarretière fondée par Édouard III au milieu du XIVème siècle "Honni soit qui mal y pense" et la devise de la Monarchie depuis Henri V au début du XVème siècle "Dieu et mon Droit"
