Croix de chevalier réduite de manufacture française par Biennais. Elle est en or ciselé de grande qualité, argent et émail, couronne appelée « type espagnol », anneau cannelé. Ruban à rosette.

Décoration ayant appartenu au comte Hyppolite de Barral de Montferrat (Troyes 21 août 1787-1856), capitaine de cavalerie aide de camp du maréchal Masséna, Duc de Rivoli, Prince d'Essling, fait commandeur de la Légion d'Honneur le 14 Décembre 1850.
Provenant de la famille descendant du comte.
