INFANTRY OFFICER'S SABER OF THE CHASSEURS DE VINCENNES, model 1838, later became CHASSEURS D'ORLÉANS in 1842, Second Empire.
Brass hilt, guard with three branches forming a shell decorated with openwork foliage motifs, pommel with a short tail decorated with laurel branches, horn handle (missing filigree). Straight blade with gutters and hollow edges, length 77.1 cm. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
In fairly good condition, missing gilt on the hilt, usual oxidation on the blade and scabbard.
