Second Empire.
NOTE: The horse artillery of the Imperial Guard of the Second Empire is equipped for the troop with a leather sabretache covered in dark blue cloth with scarlet lace with a brass eagle placed on two cannons in its center. This model is known, listed and relatively rare to find authentic. For officers, there are two models: the full dress model, in leather, covered in dark blue cloth with gold lace, with the Guard artillery eagle in the center and an undress model, in black patent leather, with eagle of the Guard on the plateau.
The copy that I am presenting today was until now completely unknown because it is a troop model, the leather is patent but with a more robust finish than an officer's, with much larger dimensions, an interior pocket of troops lined with canvas with regimental markings and an eagle in non-gilded brass. In the current state of our knowledge, this would be the only copy listed.
