MARINE INSPECTION CORPS OFFICER'S SCARF BELT, model 1902, Third Republic. 14406

In stitches of gold and amaranth silk yarn (presenting eight strips of unmixed silk and seven strips of silk and gold, all equal in width and arranged alternately lengthwise). At the ends are sewn two trapezoidal tassels: the heads covered with gold cannetille applied in a checkerboard pattern, with a matt stitch, called “followed stitch”, slightly domed on both sides. The throats and skirts with long fringes have large matte cables.

Very good state of conservation.
