PAIR OF DIVISION GENERAL'S EPAULETS, 1931 MODEL, THIRD REPUBLIC.
They are embroidered in a frieze of twisted cords and golden silver sequins. The body is embroidered with a design depicting a V-shaped baton gallone bordered by a scalloped edging on nearly black dark blue wool cloth; its patch is decorated with a shield edged with three golden stars. The fringes are made of thick matte braids, lined with identical but smaller fringes. The outline consists of three turnings: a large one in matte braid and shiny spun thread alternately rolled on a cotton core; an inner one in small twisted matte milanese, mixed with another shiny simple one; a third, of the same work, is applied below the large one, at the beginning of the fringe.
1931 uniform button (half-domed, gilded with patina and matte, stamped and raised with a bundle of flags and a shield with a star and helmet), attached at the top of the epaulet body, a strong gold-plated brass clip marked "BIDAL & PIAT 3, RUE DE RICHELIEU PARIS", placed underneath, at the corresponding location (this clip fits into a small pocket sewn onto the uniform).
Presented in its natural wooden transport box with a manufacturer's label pasted on the outside printed in black "MILITARY EQUIPMENT - E. BIDAT & PIAT 1 AND 3 RUE DE RICHELIEU, 1 AND 3 PARIS". And handwritten in ink "General Division gold or metal".
Two large uniform buttons are in the transport box.
