MOTIF FOR THE PLASTRON OF THE DRESS UNIFORM OF THE EMPEROR NAPOLEON III'S CENT-GUARDS SQUADRON, SECOND EMPIRE.
Elaborately designed motif depicting the great imperial arms (gilded embossed brass, crimson velvet, silver-gilt and dark blue enamel plate, gold braid, threads, bullion, gold sequins). This motif features the imperial eagle surrounded by the grand collar of the Legion of Honour placed on an imperial mantle with scattered bees topped with the imperial crown. Height of the motif 19.5 cm, width 14 cm.
In the lower part, a very rare hat pompom for the bicorne hat of the Cent-Gardes Squadron, in amaranth and gold trimmings, is sewn.
Presented on a wooden plaque covered with burgundy velvet.
Very good condition, of very high quality with slight oxidation of the metallic trimmings.
