BLADE OF THE STUDENTS OF THE ECOLE DE MARS, REVOLUTION (1794).
Brass hilt. Handle molded in relief with rows of scales. Oval pommel without decoration. Crossguard in a casing from which emerges a guard branch and two steel quillons, the quillons are topped with a brass olive. The crossguard terminates at the lower part with a trapezoidal shape stamped in relief of the Phrygian cap. Rustic blade with double edges and a blunt tip, length 53 cm, width at the base 4 cm.
Brass scabbard with a lining of wood covered in scarlet fine cloth. A suspension ring on each side of the scabbard with a brass ring (diameter 2.5 cm, thickness 3 mm). The lower part of the scabbard is decorated with large palmettes.
Rooster hallmark on the upper crossguard (hallmark for revolutionary productions from 1793).
Very good condition, slightly sun-faded cloth with three small holes at the back.
