ARMAND BOUXIN (1880-1972): TWO WATERCOLORS DEPICTING SCENES FROM THE 1918 BELGIAN CAMPAIGN, 20th century. 10186

Pair of watercolors by Armand Bouxin, liaison officer in the 150th infantry regiment during the 1918 Belgian campaign. The watercolors were executed in 1922 and depict:
1 - the ruins of the church of Rumbeck;
2 - the ruins of the church of Essen, near Dixmude.

Both watercolors are signed and dated in the bottom right corner. Height 23 cm, width 13 cm; presented under glass in a gilded wooden frame, height 33.5 cm, width 23 cm.

BIOGRAPHY:
Armand Bouxin was born in Reims in 1880 and died in 1972. He was awarded the Medal at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1943 and the Medal of Honor in 1954. He received the Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 and the Cross of the Veterans of King Albert of Belgium.
