OFFICER'S SABER OF THE CHASSEURS DE VINCENNES, model 1838, later known as the Chasseurs d'Orléans in 1842 during the Second Empire.
Brass hilt, intricately engraved with a shell guard adorned with oak and laurel branches crossing over a bundle of 4 flags. Cap with a long tail decorated with foliage, horn handle with filigreed gilded brass. Straight blade with two grooves signed by the Klingenthal Manufacture, length 80.7 cm. Brown leather knot.
Polished steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
Perfect condition, gilding on the hilt worn off.
