OFFICER'S SHAKO PLATE OF THE FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION, OR VETERAN OFFICER, MODEL 1831, JULY MONARCHY.

Made of gilt brass, stamped with a representation of a Gallic rooster surrounded by two laurel branches on a background of a radiant sun, placed on a base with an oak and laurel wreath on a sandblasted background, with the center embossed with a five-pointed star surrounded by an oak leaf crown on a background of crossed flags. Measures 13.6 cm in height, 10.7 cm in width.
