TRUMPET SABRETACHE OR MUSICIAN OF CHASSEUR À CHEVAL OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1854, Second Empire. 11200/21054
Sabretache in black waxed leather with back of the placket hot-dated 1862 with the imperial crown hallmark and hot-stamped "407". Interior pocket lined in dark brown canvas (H 25 cm, 17.5 cm wide at the top and 23.5 cm at the bottom). Placket covered with scarlet cloth with white leather band folded and sewn astride the outer border. Framing braid, width 3 cm in white wool. A brass plate stamped in relief and cut with the Great Imperial Arms is fixed in its center by means of a lace (H 16.9 cm, width 12.6 cm).
H of the sabretache 30.4 cm, width at the top 20 cm, width at the bottom 28 cm.
It is completed with three rectangular brass suspension rings.
