Monture en laiton, garde à quatre branches, calotte à bourrelets et courte queue, poignée de hêtre gainé de veau noirci filigrané de laiton. Branche principale matriculée « 55054 ». Lame à la Montmorency, longueur 92,5 cm et 4,3 cm au talon, à gouttière et pan creux, dos plat marqué « Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault octobre 1873 - dragon modèle 1854 - 1882 ».Cravate en buffle marron. Fourreau en acier à un bracelet de bélière pareillement matriculé que la branche principale.
