Monture en laiton, garde à trois branches. Calotte à courte queue, poignée en bois gainé de veau ciré noir filigrané laiton. Lame courbe à un pan creux, longueur 87 cm, marquée au talon « Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault septembre 1878 cavalerie légère modèle 1822 ». Cravate en buffle blanchi. Fourreau en tôle d'acier chromé à un anneau de bélière. La garde et le fourreau sont pareillement matriculés « 1525 ».
