FRAGMENT DE PETITE ARTILLERIE, MODÈLE RÉVOLUTION, PIÈCE DE FOUILLE, PREMIÈRE EMPIRE.

Éclat de la partie arrière d'un tube en bronze portant encore l'inscription « LIBERTÉ . E » (GALITÉ). Longueur 15,5 cm, largeur 11,5 cm, épaisseur 4,3 cm, poids 2,6 kg. Pièce de fouille provenant du Pays Basque retrouvée au lieu-dit La Croix des Bouquets à Urrugne.

Cet élément provient des combats entre les troupes françaises et anglaises lors de la campagne de France en 1814. Ce fragment est l'un des très rares exemplaires de tubes de canons retrouvés. Il a été reproduit en illustration dans l'ouvrage « Les batailles de Napoléon dans le Sud Ouest », Jean Quatre Vieux et Pierre Migliorini, page 151.
