POMPON COCARDE DE BONNET À POILS DES GRENADIERS À PIED DE LA GARDE IMPERIALE, MODÈLE 1804-1815, PREMIER EMPIRE.

Pompon, ou cocarde (les textes d’origine indiquent les deux mots). En 1804, il est en galon de fil plissé durant les premières années. À partir de 1806, il devient trois-quar t sphérique en bois recouver t de flanelle blanche, en chenille de laine de 59 mm de diamètre et de 25 mm d’épaisseur totale. Le bleu est au centre, le blanc à l’extérieur. Une tige en fer de 99 mm de long permet de le fixer dans le gousset à la base du plumet.

A partir de 1806, le centre de la cocarde est composé d’un drap bleu brodé en laine aurore d’une aigle couronnée. Son tarif, 0,90 F, ne bouge pas de 1806 à 1813.

A partir de 1813, les pompons cocardes sont fabriqués en fil, ils sortent des ateliers Vautrin Lefèvre et Clavet, passementiers.
