DRUM MAJOR'S FULL DRESS BALDRIC OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD VOLTIGEURS, MODEL 1854, Second Empire. 29256
Made of buff leather entirely covered with jonquil colored wool. Width at the top 9 cm, width at the bottom 11.5 cm, total length unfolded 126 cm. It is bordered on each side and at its center (at the top) with a woven gold and silver "bâtons" pattern braid, width 2.5 cm. Decorated on the front (chest) with two brass insignias representing a flaming bomb in a hunting horn and in the center a large ornate brass shield with horn and ivory rods symbolizing drum majors. At the bottom, a brass plaque with a hook. On the back, it is decorated with four brass motifs representing a flaming bomb in a hunting horn, and at the bottom, a plaque with a ring.
