Monture ciselée en laiton, à plateau débordant et coquille, dont la branche de garde à une branche évidée et munie d'un oeillet de dragonne, se poursuit vers le quillon en un décor floral ajouré. Calotte à courte queue décorée de branches de laurier. Poignée en corne filigranée.

Lame de 77,2 cm marquée « Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault 8 novembre 1876 = adjudant d'infanterie modèle 1845 » à dos plat, gouttières et pans creux, contre tranchant bombé.

Fourreau en acier à un anneau de bélières.
