En bronze fondu et découpé, format 61 x 80 x 15 mm, avec son manche en bois noirci tourné, petite fente de 16 mm, sans gravité, comme illustré sur les photographies. Hauteur totale : 167 mm.

Les armoiries affichent une aigle, toujours à tête contournée en désaccord avec le blasonnement, empiétant un foudre, timbré de la couronne impériale fermée sommée d’un globe surmonté d’une croix ; accompagné du grand-collier de l'ordre de la Légion d'honneur. Le sceptre, supporte à son sommet une statuette du premier Empereur d'Occident et la main de justice reproduisent les honneurs de Charlemagne utilisés pendant le sacre. Manteau doublé d’hermines et semé d’abeilles d’or.
