Round bronze insignia decorated in relief on the obverse with an eagle perched on an oval shield bearing the inscription "DO GOOD AND GOOD WILL COME TO YOU" placed on a bundle of flags, cannons, and Legion of Honor. Outer relief border emphasized with the inscription "PHILANTHROPIC SOCIETY OF THE REMNANTS OF THE IMPERIAL ARMY." The reverse is engraved in the center with "DECREE OF APRIL 27, 1853" surrounded by a laurel branch wreath. Suspension ring.

Beige silk ribbon bordered on each side by a tricolor stripe with a gilded bronze clasp representing an eagle perched on two crossed swords (H 1.2 cm, L 4.15 cm).
