Outcome of numerous years of searches, result of the erudite confrontation between the object and the document, here is finally the work that all waited, indispensable tool of knowledge and identification henceforth within the reach of all, for greenhorn or introduced, for amateurs of French military cutting weapons. This rich catalog inventories, in an exhaustive and commented illustrated continuation, all the models of weapons as well as the variants and the other contemporary whims, put in service in the French armies of Louis XIV in our days. Chronological method privileges an accessible use by each, with the very numerous boards in colours accompanied with descriptive and historic notes, its synoptic tables organized by specialities, its morphological suites, to which are joined the sets of awls of industrial or deprived centres, with a very complete glossary of the terms of the art. We also find boards of cut-away diagrams, complete inventory of sheaths and then used blades, totally new information this day. Finally, photos allowing to bring to the reader visual, additional information in the graphic indication. Later, this collection will grow rich of a suite dedicated to the cutting weapons of the troops on foot, then later the more technical volume dedicated to the industry armurière with the graphic reproduction of several hundred engraved blades established in chronological agreement with the previous volumes.
