OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE NATIONAL GUARD, JULY MONARCHY.

Gilt bronze sword.

Pommel in the shape of a rooster's head, guard branch decorated with foliage and flowers.

Hilt adorned with the Gallic rooster holding the thunderbolt of Jupiter and the terrestrial globe in its talons, against a background of a bundle of flags.

Handle with mother-of-pearl plates (small 1 cm chip at the top of the rear plate).

Single-edged blade simply engraved with floral motifs. Length 80.4 cm.

Original black varnished leather scabbard, brass throat and drag not matching.

Total length 102.5 cm.

Very good condition, guard in perfect condition, blade in very good condition, scabbard in good condition.
