PAIR OF EPAULETS OF MARECHAL AND FOURRIERS-DES-LOGIS FROM THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSE, model 1814, Restoration, 1814-1830. They are embroidered in crimped cables and golden silver sequins. The body is embroidered with a design featuring foliage and a scalloped framing rod on a dark blue woolen cloth; shield decorated with a beaded shield decorated with a lily flower in its center, also embroidered. Soft fringes of the so-called "rope to well" model. The outline is made up of three turns: a large satin mat and shiny yarn alternately rolled; an inner second in twisted matte Milanese; a third, of the same work, is applied below the coarse, at the start of the fringe. Uniform button of the small model 17 mm in diameter in gilded brass embossed with a fleur-de-lys on a radiant background. Below the body of the epaulet is sewn a metal hook for attachment to the uniform. Dimensions: Body: length 78 mm, width 68 mm. Shield and twists: length 71 mm, width 122 mm. Fringes: height 67 mm. France. Restoration period. Very good state of conservation, oxidation of use. NOTE: This body is the oldest of the Maison du Roi. Its function is to prepare in advance the accommodation of His Majesty and the troops accompanying him. The Maréchaux-des-Logis are 12 in number and the Fourriers-des-Logis (under the orders of the Marshals) are 48. We do not know of any other copy of this model of epaulettes.
