Arme fabriquée à quelques centaines d'exemplaires à l'intention des sapeurs et musicien de la Garde, ce modèle compte parmi les plus rares des mousquetons de gendarmerie.

Mousqueton à piston, marqué 'modèle 1854' sur la queue de culasse, calibre de 17,8 mm, identique au fusil d'infanterie et non sous-dimensionné comme c'était le cas des modèles précédents, platine identique à celle du mousqueton modèle 1853 marquée 'M.re Imp.ale de Mutzig', garnitures en laiton et en fer, baguette absente, canon à courts pans au tonnerre, hausse et guidon fixe, plaque de couche en laiton frappé de la Couronne Impériale et du chiffre '3'.
Longueur de l'arme : 1,15m

Mécanisme complet et fonctionnel entièrement d'origine, bois et canon marqué du même chiffre '7', parties métalliques patinées, traces d'oxydation mais nettoyées, bonne présentation.
