NCO KEPI OF THE 59th LINE INFANTRY REGIMENT WITH HIS EPAULETTES, model 1873, Third Republic. 28146
Sloped shape, cap and turban in madder cloth, headband in black cloth, piping in dark blue cord. At the front of the headband, a rectangular badge in dark blue, almost black cloth is sewn onto which the number “59” cut out of madder cloth is sewn. Black waxed leather visor with rounded shapes lined with black sheepskin; it is bordered with a black sheepskin rush folded and sewn astride the outer edge. Black waxed leather sweatband. Beige canvas cap, the bottom of the cap is also lined with beige canvas.
PAIR OF SHOULDER PAULETTES OF THE 59th LINE INFANTRY REGIMENT, Third Republic.
Body in scarlet wool trimmings, with twists and soft fringes in scarlet wool. Lined with dark blue cloth. Fabric square with registration number stamps “9805”, dated 3rd quarter 1873 and assigned to “59”; each body of epaulettes, below, has this square of fabric. Likewise, on each epaulet a second square with No. 342 is placed near the fringes.

Very good condition, buttons and false chin guard of the kepi missing, a small moth hole at the front of the headdress, slight wear on the trimmings of an epaulette.
