HUSSARD OFFICER'S SABER, German-style guard, First Empire. 26545
Chiseled and gilded bronze frame. Guard with one branch, short-tailed cap decorated with a plumed helmet placed on shields with a trophy background of flags. Wooden spindle covered in black waxed calfskin with chiseled head buttons.
Curved blade with hollow sides, engraved and gilded on its first third with military trophies and floral decorations. Golden heel signed “Manuf de Klingenthal” on one side, and “Coulaux Frères” on the other side, on a blued background. Length 80.6 cm.
Wooden scabbard trimmed with black waxed morocco with four embossed, chiseled and gilded brass fittings. Moroccan sewn in the center on the front side with a spring seam in silver-plated copper thread. Screed decorated with a garland of laurel branches. The two bail bracelets are embossed with military and musical trophies. Fluted bail pitons. Golden brass rings. Long bouterolle bordered at the top with a garland of laurel branches with in the center a medallion surrounded by garland of laurel branches with military trophy, plumed helmet and musical instrument. The bouterolle also decorated with a palmette and oak leaves. Iron stinger.
